About Gru: GRU is Gabi Lima, sometimes alone on guitar and voice, sometimes alone in front of a computer recording all the instruments, as she did with her debut release "Kitchen Door", and then there’s the electric live show with her band!
Her compositions in English reflect Rock influences, to be more precise
The 90’s American Alternative Rock scene, represented by artists like Buffalo Tom, Lemonheads and Dinosaur Jr. mixed with the pop sounds of bands like Counting Crows, and the taste for a good composition on as you find in Aimee Mann’s and Wilco’s songs. Her acoustic show often includes, in addition to her own compositions, covers from the bands above and untimely classics by bands such as REM, Cardigans, Cake and Rilo Kiley, and others a little more unusual, like Stevie Wonder, Misfits, Michael Jackson and Phoebe Buffay. |
