About Marcelo Vig: Marcelo Vig is a Drummer, Programmer and Percussionist. Brazilian born, Vig is a seasoned professional, beats craftsman and rhythm designer for some of today’s cutting edge Artists such as Patrick Wolf and Bishi, as well as the rhythm maker for some classic sounding artists on both sides of the Atlantic, such as Shakin’ Stevens, Jason Donovan (UK), Gilberto Gil and Lenine (Brazil), (the last two being Grammy® Award Winners). Vig has studied with some of the best teachers both in Brazil and the UK. He graduated with a BA in music from the University of Rio de Janeiro-UNI RIO and succeeded in getting a Performance Certificate at the renowned Power House/Drumtech in London. Vig attended Alchemea School of Audio Engineering for a Pro Tools operator’s course as well as a Mixing Seminar and a Propellerheads Reason seminar. Currently living between London and Rio de Janeiro, Vig has worked with the likes of Eminem, Avril Lavigne, Will Smith, Stacie Orrico, Cass Fox and many others. In Brazil, Vig has played and/or recorded with a lot of well-known artists and bands (Gilberto Gil, Lenine, Lobao, Ze Renato, Marcelo Bonfa Vulgue Tostoi and De Palmeira to name a few) whilst playing with his own band Tantra formerly signed to Universal Music. At the moment he is Patrick Wolf’s drummer, one of the most acclaimed contemporary young British artist.
